What We Design

Plant-Led Garden Design.

Front Yard Garden Design

Curb-appeal-focused garden design — entryway beds, foundation plantings, walkway borders, and signature focal plantings that change with the seasons.

Native & Drought-Tolerant Gardens

Texas-native plant palettes built for North Texas heat, clay, and water restrictions. Pollinator-friendly, low-irrigation, lush year-round.

Seasonal Color & Bed Refresh

Spring, summer, fall, and winter color rotations. Fresh mulch, edged beds, refreshed plantings — your yard reads new four times a year.

Shade Garden Design

Under-canopy gardens for Lakewood pecans, Preston Hollow live oaks, and any DFW yard with deep shade. The right plant palette for low-light spots that usually struggle.

Cottage, Mediterranean & Modern Styles

Style-led garden design — flowing cottage borders, structured Mediterranean herb beds, or clean modern lines with ornamental grasses. We design to the architecture.

Edible & Kitchen Gardens

Raised beds, herb spirals, and integrated edible-ornamental designs. Tomatoes, peppers, herbs, and pollinators in the same bed.

Common Questions

Garden Design FAQ.

How is garden design different from landscaping?

+
Garden design focuses on plant-driven beds — flowers, ornamentals, edibles, and native palettes — and the visual flow they create. Landscaping is the broader category that also includes hardscape, lawn install, drainage, and structural elements. Most of our clients do both as one project.

How long does a garden design project take?

+
Concept to install is typically 3–6 weeks: one week for design, two weeks for review and refinement, and one to three weeks for install depending on scope, weather, and plant availability.

Do you do design-only, or only design + install?

+
Both. We can deliver a written design package (layouts, plant list, care notes) that you take to your own crew, or we design and install as one coordinated project. Most clients choose the combined route — one in-house team owns the project from concept to ground.

What plants do you recommend for shade gardens in Dallas?

+
For deep shade under mature pecans and live oaks: hosta, ferns, oakleaf hydrangea, Japanese maples, columbine, hellebore, mahonia, and turk’s cap. For dappled shade: dwarf yaupon holly, autumn sage, plumbago, and native lantana. We tune the palette to the exact light conditions of your yard.

Can you design a low-water / drought-tolerant garden?

+
Yes — Texas-native and Mediterranean-adapted palettes thrive on Dallas water restrictions. Yarrow, salvia, lantana, gaura, autumn sage, agave, yucca, ornamental grasses, and rosemary are all in our regular toolkit. We design to look lush even at twice-a-week watering.

Do you handle bed prep, mulching, and irrigation?

+
Yes. Most garden design projects include bed shaping, soil amendment, drip-line additions where useful, and fresh mulch. We work with your existing irrigation or recommend adjustments.

What’s the cost range for a garden design project?

+
Bed refresh and seasonal color projects start around $1,500–$3,000. Full front-yard redesigns typically run $5,000–$15,000 depending on scope and plant quantity. We provide written quotes after the on-site consultation — no surprise pricing.
